Each year the Shelby County Health Department and Shelby County Schools recognizes individuals, businesses, and organizations in the community that has demonstrated activities to increase awareness and understanding of HIV/AIDS in our community by awarding the Light of Hope Award to the deserving recipient. This year we, FOCUS MAGAZINE and our owner Ray Rico, are honored to be presented a Light of Hope Award in recognition of our efforts to bring awareness and to fight against the spread of HIV/AIDS in Shelby County.
We are very proud of the work we do as leaders in our community to bring awareness locally and globally to HIV and AIDS. We look forward to being amongst others who are working vigilantly to fight against the spread of HIV/AIDS at the Shelby County Health Department World AIDS Day program event on Friday, December 1st at Melrose High School.
